ATAG Approved Installer

ATAG boilers, and the 12 to 18-year warranty behind them

ATAG boilers carry a 12 to 18-year warranty when the required terms are met, and only approved firms are allowed to install them. Connected Gas & Heating is an ATAG approved installer working across County Durham, Wearside and Teesside.

Approved Installers Only

Why You Cannot Get an ATAG From Just Anyone

ATAG restricts installation of its boilers to approved firms. That is unusual, and it is the reason the warranty can run as long as it does. The manufacturer is only prepared to stand behind an appliance it knows has been fitted properly.

Connected Gas & Heating deals directly with ATAG rather than through a middleman, and has carried out repairs on the manufacturer's behalf for around five years. That relationship means product knowledge, direct technical support, and a straightforward route when something needs manufacturer involvement.

The Headline Benefit

An 18-Year Warranty, Properly Explained

Eighteen years is longer than most people keep a boiler. It is the single strongest reason to consider ATAG, and very few installers in the North East are able to offer it.

The 12 to 18-year warranty applies when the required product, installation and servicing conditions are met. We explain those conditions at survey so there are no surprises later.

An appropriate inline scale reducer supports protection of the installation and helps the system meet the extended-warranty requirements, which matters particularly in harder-water areas such as Hartlepool.

Keeping It Valid

What Keeps the Warranty in Place

A long warranty is only worth having if it stays valid. These are the things that matter over the life of the boiler.

  • Installation by an approved firm. Only approved installers can fit ATAG boilers, and the extended warranty depends on that.
  • Annual servicing. The service has to be carried out each year by a Gas Safe registered engineer and recorded properly.
  • Correct system protection. Filters, inhibitor and, where appropriate, an inline scale reducer protect the appliance and support the warranty terms.
  • A clean system to start with. We assess and clean the existing heating circuit before commissioning rather than connecting a new boiler to an old, dirty system.
  • Paperwork done at the time. Registration and commissioning documentation are completed as part of the installation, not left to the customer.

Our boiler service plan exists partly so the annual service never gets missed.

Is It Right for You

When an ATAG Makes Sense

ATAG is a premium option and it will not be the right answer for every household. We would rather say so than sell you the most expensive boiler on the list.

Staying Put Long Term

If you plan to be in the property for years, a 12 to 18-year warranty removes a decade and a half of repair worry. That is where the value sits.

You Want It Fitted Once

Households that would rather pay more now than deal with breakdowns and replacement later tend to be the ones who value ATAG most.

Landlords and Portfolios

Long warranty cover can reduce the ongoing repair burden across rented properties. See our landlord heating service.

When Baxi Suits Better

For many homes a Baxi is the sensible choice on budget and availability. We are approved for both, so the recommendation is not forced.

Hard-Water Properties

In Hartlepool and other harder-water areas, appropriate scale protection is planned into the installation from the start.

Existing ATAG Owners

We service and repair ATAG boilers we did not install, including work carried out on the manufacturer's behalf.

Baxi or ATAG

Approved for Both, So the Advice Is Honest

Most installers are tied to one manufacturer, which shapes the advice you get. Connected Gas & Heating is approved by Baxi and by ATAG, so the recommendation comes down to your property, your hot-water demand and your budget.

Baxi is a long-established British manufacturer with a broad range, widely available parts and strong support. It suits most homes and most budgets. ATAG is the premium option, with the longest warranty available and installation restricted to approved firms. Read about our Baxi approved installer status.

Common Questions

ATAG Approved Installer Questions Answered

How long is the ATAG warranty?

ATAG boilers can carry a 12 to 18-year warranty when the required product, installation and servicing conditions are met. We confirm exactly what applies to your chosen boiler before the work is booked.

Can any installer fit an ATAG boiler?

No. Only approved firms are able to install ATAG boilers, which is part of the reason the warranty can run as long as it does. Connected Gas & Heating is an ATAG approved installer and deals directly with the manufacturer.

What could invalidate the warranty?

The extended warranty depends on installation by an approved firm, an annual service by a Gas Safe registered engineer, and appropriate system protection. Missing the annual service is the most common reason cover is affected.

Do you repair ATAG boilers you did not install?

Yes. We repair and service ATAG boilers across the North East and have carried out repairs on the manufacturer's behalf for around five years.

Is an ATAG worth the extra cost?

It depends on how long you plan to stay in the property and how much you value long-term cover. For households staying put, a 12 to 18-year warranty removes a great deal of future repair risk. For others a Baxi may be the more sensible choice, and we are approved for both.
